How to write a cover letter.
Blogbeitrag
In an ultra-competitive SAP jobs market, you need an extra boost to stand out from the highly qualified crowd. A well-written cover letter might be the much-needed means to support your SAP CV.
Follow our tips and learn how to write a great cover letter that enhances your profile.
1. Tailor your cover letter
Recruiters often see hundreds of cover letters every day. Therefore, a cover letter that does not feel personal is likely to not get read.
Research the company and discuss what attracted you to them in the first place. Furthermore, use LinkedIn to find out who will be reading your cover letter and address it to them personally.
2. Give it structure
A good cover letter should flow easily and be easy to read. Give it the following structure to achieve this:
- Introduction – your reason for applying for the role, where you found it and your notice period
- Your pitch – two paragraphs outlining why you’re suitable for the role and what you can do for the company
- Conclusion – final paragraph to reiterate and express your interest to interview for the role
3. Keep it short
Recruiters are busy as ever, which means you need a short and punchy cover letter to get ahead. When you put pen to paper, ensure you’re concise and to-the-point so you don’t end up rambling and use up too much white space.
4. Set the right tone
Use your cover letter to convey your personality but above all stay professional.
Try and avoid using too much industry jargon as it can make your cover letter seem impersonal and bland. Instead, use engaging language to demonstrate the impact of your performance in previous roles.
